ARE YOU A STARTING VA AND NEED A WEBSITE?

ARE YOU A STARTING VA AND NEED A WEBSITE?

As a starting Virtual Assistant you would like to be visible for new clients, mind you your first client (so excitingggg)! The best way to showcase your skills and style of work is with a portfolio on a website. I understand not every starting VA has the tech skills to set up their own website. With that in mind I’m developing a Do It Yourself website package for a starting VA. The only thing you need to do is fill it with your own content like text, your logo and images. No fuss with al the technical settings, it’s already done for you and already mobile friendly.

Do i really need a website?

A website will be a bit of an investment so you’re probably wondering if you need to spend money on this. You could start with just setting up some social media sites, like a LinkedIn profile or Facebook business page. Definitely get those, they’re free to sign up for and will help you interact and target possible new clients. But if you want to step up your game and come across as a professional I would advise you on getting a website. A website can generate traffic from search engines like Google etc. You can add traffic to your website by setting up a blogpage, because search engines love blog pages. And this will help your rank in Google to go up and reach more people trying those search engines.

the launch!

After reading this you probably think you DO need a website. The easy DIY website will become available soon, and it will come with a handy instruction manual. Like I said I’m currently busy with developing the Do It Yourself website package and hoping to lauch it coming August. Please subsribe to the list in the sidebar to receive updates on the progress of the development.

WANT TO LEARN THE SKILLS OF A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT?

WANT TO LEARN THE SKILLS OF A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT?

WANT TO LEARN THE SKILLS OF A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT?

As the pandemic already has shown working as a virtual assistant is a safe bet. Working in the admin & creative field for over 20 years myself I discovered people pay you for your skills. No matter what they are, skills just equals pay! So why work for an employer after obtaining a variety of skills? Working for yourself gives you so much more freedom to live life on your own terms. And getting paid a hell of a lot better as in employment. Especially if you don’t have to pay taxes like me in Guatemala…

BUT I DON’T HAVE ANY VA SKILLS, WHAT DO I DO?

Another good thing about skills….you can learn them! There are so much courses and information available if you want to learn a new skill. I actually used the time during the pandemic to add some new skills to my resume. Also in the process of learning Spanish with a teacher via Zoom! Some new skills I’ve picked up via the Virtual Savvy, a website dedicated to learning VA’s new tricks in the trade. It has a great platform with an abundance of courses, which is called the Vault. Where you can take out a subscription, I’m doing the monthly subscription which you can cancel each month if you like. Take a look at it, if you see a course you would like to do, please use this link (so I will get a small *commission, at no extra costs to you, because I’m an affiliate).

THE STEP-BY-STEP VIRTUAL ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM STARTS SOON (24 july 2020)!

If you have to start from scratch to become a virtual assistant I definitly recommend joining the step by step training with the Savvy System. The program that takes you from start-up to sold out in your at-home business!

The new program is about to start on 24th of July and if you join the VIP waitinglist you receive up to $250 off with your early bird pricing! Please use this link (*) to sign up to the VIP waitinglist and enroll in the program!

(*)  I’m an affiliate for the Virtual Savvy, which means if you use my links I will get a small commission for bringing a new customer, to no extra costs for you! It will be much appreciated, thanks!

WHAT TASKS WILL A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT DO?

WHAT TASKS WILL A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT DO?

WHAT TASKS WILL A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT DO?

There is such a variety of tasks that virtual assistants do, let me break it down for you. First of all the different fields, you have classic admin support. Then there’s the social media support, web support, graphic support. The list goes on but let’s stick to these for now. If you like to see what services I offer, please take a look at my services page.

the classic admin support assistance

Admin support is usually just your day to day office support. Like email, setting appointments, transcripting, customer support, data entry etc. As a VA myself I gained a lot of experience with these tasks from working a 9 to 5 job for +20 years now. It’s a service I offer, I know it well and like doing so.

THE SOCIAL MEDIA GURU

Very populair and in demand these days, the social media guru!  You should be on top of your game for this one, there is a lot of competition out there in Social Media Marketing. You need to know what you’re doing here and be familiar with all the social applications and tools you need to get the job done! Not really my cup of tea, I’m more on the spectrum of designing graphics needed for marketing! Sales funnels and all that jazz are just not my thing.

Webdesign and all things created online

This is the field I like to operate in and enjoy doing, more project related work compared to day to day admin tasks 9 to 5. These projects have a set time frame and give you more flexibility with your hours. Myself for instance I like to work at night (often till weird hours), and most people don’t operate during that time 🙂

If you like to learn more what tasks a virtual assistant can do, check out this website with a lot of information The Virtual Savvy.

WORKING AS A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT

WORKING AS A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT

WORKING AS A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT

Working as a virtual assistant can’t be any more actual and visible during the corona virus. When I told people before about my proffesion I usually got blank stares a lot, followed by… virtual assistant what’s that?! But since a couple of weeks no explanation needed, which is nice and will be a great boost for the virtual assistant community!

the virtual community

And a community we are, there are so many different people working in the industry these days. It can be very convenient in combining a family while working as a virtual assistant. Especially when the kids are young and aren’t into school yet. Remote working has a lot of benefits, it also gives a lot of freedom and location indepency if you like that lifesyle.

DIGITAL NOMAD LIFESTYLE

Speaking for myself I like to travel a lot and being stuck in an office job gives you limited oppertunities. For instance, I moved to Guatemala to get even more tax benefits out of my virtual assistant lifestyle.

LIVE LIFE ON YOUR OWN TERMS!

In short being a virtual assistant gives you the oppertunity to live your life on your own terms. Not depending on a location, a boss or stuck in a career you don’t like for the rest of your working life.

On this blog I will be writing articles about working as a virtual assistants. As well as hoping to answer questions like what it is virtual assistants do, and can do for clients, who I like to work with etc. Like I said the concept of working remote has gotten much more famous over the past couple of weeks, that will make my job writing about it so much easier!
